The confused
He was so confused. Life, universe and everything seemed to work according to rules that he did not learn. His passion was dwindling in the thing most precious. He never knew to change would be so confusing

Kashmir
He was an ardent fan of illusions. His favorites were the ones in which he had conquered the last of Kashmir. Kashmir, the land of illusions itself! In his altered brain, he saw red Himalayas and black Jhelum. Somehow the strange land of illusions made it all real to him.

Old friends and enemies
That one look just killed him.
He was mostly in good moods these days. He was moderately successful in life. He had recovered from bad addiction. On the way back to normalcy, one look, cast unknowingly, without even realizing, wrecked him.
Alcohol, the old friend, took him willingly to nothingness

Clear skies and falling leaves
Sky was unusually clear these days. Leaves unusually green and still.
He arrived and painted the sky red. He swept the leaves off their branches.
He sat, satisfied and thought. Then he started crying.

The sailor
He looked at the blue water standing on the shore.
Somehow deep down, he knew that once he went in, there was no coming back. All the bonds holding him back were insignificant compared to the pull of water.
He took in a deep breath and let everything go.

Second
“Is this the first of its kind?”
“No. Actually it is the second that was ever built.”
“What’s the point then?”
“Well, for starters, it has more functionality than the first one in some areas.”
“Screw all that. First sounds so much better.”

Dreams
He was dreaming.
He dreamt of red rivers and black skies. Uneasy dreams of yellow gases, twisted crosses, Uneven horizon and glitter of neon.
He dreamt of assassinations of kings, rapes of queens and mass murderers.
The dream that haunted him the most was that of his own un-dreaming sleep.

Love at first sight
He looked at her. She looked at him.
Both of them were shocked to learn about love at first sight for the first time in their life. They were profoundly confused and elated at the same time.
Signal turned green. Both went their own way.

Clouds
There were many clouds in the sky. They came in all sizes and shapes. Some were huge with the figure of elephant and some like combed cotton, thin and scattered. There was only one which was different. It was pitch black like new moons night and strangely it was weeping.

Man and the vulture
The vulture came and asked him “What are you doing?”
He answered “Nothing at all”
Vulture looked at him petulantly and flew off.
When it returned, He actually was doing nothing at all.

Grooming for life
She lived a very happy life. To many, she was the epitome of happiness, always smiling. She considered herself lucky for all the people complimenting her on so many things. In the hindsight, they discovered that they had forgot to teach her the meaning of sarcasm.

Masks
The picture was perfect. The painter put all his heart into this one masterpiece of his. Some say he died a happy death a day after he finished it. She was beautiful, charming and ever smiling. Somehow, everybody forgot to remove the mask before the paining was done.

Cruel time
He stood in the bank waiting for the cash. The timing was perfect still he wished that time could stand still for just a little while. Somewhere in Bombay, the orange signal duration was reduced from four seconds to three. Later, they found exactly fifty bullets in his body.
