Songs

Songs filled the air. Songs of joy and gratitude. It was springtime.

Then came the summer, time of harvest. The songs were merry and slow. The songs of languor.

The rains were particularly fierce that year. And the winter was long. When the next spring came, only songs left were howls of wolves.

The machine

He was restless for last few days. His ultimate creation was nearing completion. It was the fruit of his lifetime of efforts.

It was an intricate machine. It is not easy to inflict physical pain in 18 different ways at the same time.

He was convicted on next day.

Company

She gave away all her books.

Every single book was special to her. Some were bought with carefully saved pocket-money, some borrowed from dear friends and never given back, some picked from library sales. It was an impressive collection.

When asked why, she said, she was tired of illusion of company.

Stalkers and the killer

The phone was ringing incessantly.

She was dead.

The killer was methodical. It was a perfect murder. Only clue that the police found was the number that had called 600 times in last 6 months, without any response.

Innocent stalkers went to jail.
Killer went on, one at a time.

Being happy

He was a perfectly normal man. He was a loving father of 2 and husband of a beautiful wife. He had a good job, even secure future. He had everything that he needed. He lived till the ripe age of 87 and died happy.

He never thought of getting better.
